On behalf of the Canadian Council for Practical Nurse Regulators (CCPNR) and Canadian Council of Registered Nurse Regulators (CCRNR), NSCN is sharing an opportunity for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) to provide feedback through a national validation survey.

The survey will help validate a draft set of updated entry-level competencies (ELCs) for both LPNs and RNs. Your input will help the steering committee determine whether the draft ELCs accurately capture the full scope of contemporary nursing practice and identify any areas that may require refinement or further consideration.

Survey invitations have been shared via email based on your designation (LPN or RN) across Canada. If you are registered to practice in more than one Canadian jurisdiction, you may receive an email from each regulatory body where you are registered – please only complete the survey once. If you are registered as both and LPN or RN, you may receive a survey for each designation and are able to participate in both.

The survey will take approximately 25-30 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous and confidential.

The link to the validation survey for each designation was sent via email on March 23, 2026. Please view that email to complete the survey. The deadline to participate is April 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
