April 1, 2021

NSCN recently entered into an agreement with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) to provide NCAS Competency Assessments for LPNs and RNs.  The official launch is April 1, 2021 with assessments initially starting for RNs and then LPNs by the fall.

Why is this important for NSCN registrants? NCAS Competency Assessments will enable a timely, consistent and streamlined approach to assess, when required, the entry-level competencies for safe practice of nurses that are internationally educated, undergoing a practice review, and/or returning to practice.

There is a plan in place to contact current applicants who will transition to NCAS for their competency assessment. Stay tuned for more updates and communication on this new service. Click here to learn more about competency assessments. If you have any questions, please contact
registration@nscn.ca.
