A quality practice environment is one in which nurses are able to provide safe, compassionate, competent and ethical nursing care with sufficient organizational and human supports. There are six key factors that have been identified in the literature that support the establishment of quality practice environments. We developed this position statement to communication our position on quality practice environments and the factors that contribute to these practice settings.
