In today’s health care environment, health care professionals collaborate with one another and practice in a manner that maximizes their scope of practice. Assignment and delegation play an important role for nurses in enabling all team members to practice to their optimal scope of practice. This module will outline the differences between assignment and delegation as well as the accountabilities and considerations for nurses prior to assigning or delegating care to unregulated care providers (UCPs).
