Not Renewing Because I Am Leaving the Province

If you plan to leave the province, please review the information below.

Note: Our licensure year runs from November 1 – October 31.

You must renew your licence during the annual renewal season and pay the annual fee. Your licence and all accompanying benefits are valid for the entire licensure year, even if you move outside of Nova Scotia during this time. Even if you only work a few days or weeks into the new licensure year, you must pay the full year’s licensure fee. There is no short-term licence option at this time.

You do not need to hold a practising licence with us. If you do not hold a practising licence, your licensure status on the Search for a Nurse will indicate that you are not currently licensed as of November 1.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at registration@nscn.ca. We strive to respond to you as soon as possible. However, due to the high volumes of emails and complexity of inquiries, our response time may vary.

Please be advised that registration requirements and fees are subject to change. All registration and licensure fees are non-refundable. Click here to learn more about fees and payment options
