Am I able to ask questions at the meeting?
Yes. There will be an opportunity to participate in discussions via the online platform and to pose questions once the Annual Meeting information has been presented.
What if I have a matter I would like to bring forward to the NSCN Board?
Board policy permits registrants to submit a resolution for the Board’s consideration at its regular meetings throughout the year (Board policy 3.13.4). You can submit a resolution to the Board here. This process enables registrants to bring issues to the Board for consideration in a timelier manner throughout the year without waiting until the Annual Meeting.
Can I submit a resolution at the meeting?
All Annual Meeting participants can participate in discussions via the online platform. There is no resolution process at the Annual Meeting. Registrants who would like to pose a question to the NSCN Board for consideration have an opportunity to do that at any time, which is outlined below.
As part of its work to review its governance processes, the NSCN Board identified opportunities to evolve the Annual Meeting processes to better reflect its role as a regulator and meet best practice. After a public consultation from October to November 2022, the Board approved by-law amendments which remove the resolutions process from Annual Meetings. More information about the consultation and by-law changes can be found here.
The NSCN Board recognizes that all practicing registrants have the option of submitting resolutions to the Board at any time during the year for consideration at a Board meeting , and to be acted upon in such manner as the Board determines is consistent with the Act. NSCN Board policy 3.13.4 provides practicing registrants with a timelier means to submit a resolution for the Board’s consideration throughout the year without the need to wait for the annual meeting. Registrants can submit a resolution to the Board here.
Is there an Annual Meeting agenda?
The Board will be approving an agenda to bring to the 2023 Annual Meeting in February and that finalized meeting agenda will be shared with all stakeholders 30 days in advance.
